Sernhac, an ancient Saracen village, is the most northern terroir of the Costières de Nîmes. That’s the place, near the Pont du Gard, where Elisabeth and Pascal Glas decided to create in 2004 the Domaine de Poulvarel. What could have looked like a wild bet, carried now out against odds. Elisabeth and Pascal combined their strength, their differences, their know-how and offer today wines worthy of the best tables and regularly mentioned by the specialized magazines. The cellar with contemporary architecture, made with stones from Pont du Gard and a modern cladding has been designed to obtain an optimum temperature for maturating and preservation. On a soil of rolled peebles like Villafranchian Rhôdanien mindélien, Syrah, Grenache, Carignan and Mourvèdre give wines with a stong terroir expression and a unique character. In the place called POULVAREL, on gravel soils, sauvignon, cabernet and merlot offer typical and fruity wines that will bring an amazing delight to the tasting buds.
